DD can do it, but chooses not to

DD (2yrs7m) trained in 3 weeks, about 5 months ago. She very rarely poos in her pants but has just given up telling me when she needs to wee, and indeed when she has weed. We are getting through 6-8 pairs leggings and pants a day and I am getting v ratty. She screams blue murder every time I try to take her to the loo/potty - I managed to get this reaction better by giving her a reward jar, but the novelty of that has worn off. I have just put a nappy on her because I am sick of clearing up after her. But this is just ratty mother. Not helpful etc. etc. . Many other behavioural issues. End of tether constantly in view.

I think you have a little girl who is using wetting as an attention getting device, or a response to a stessful situation, or just to get back at you for thwarting her in some way. I think not entering into a battle of wills is the best plan. If she is back in nappies there is less pressure on both of you.

My friend had a 3yo dd who would stand and announce that she was wetting herself as she did so. Friend had no idea what to do apart from play the waiting game (at least this was in summer so most accidents were outdoors and the washing dried quickly!) Eventually there was improvement when the dd found it was not getting any response from her mum.
