Only just found out that local playgroup (in which we got a place with some difficulty) prefers all children to be potty-trained. Some of the children who go to the playgroup are just 2. Is this usual?
Well, DD, who is 2.6, is not yet potty-trained. Though I have been trying since she was 18 months! We've tried the potty, loo seat, nappy off/bare bum methods. She would just hold it in until bath time
and I would get worried about what it was doing to her bladder muscles and go back to nappies.
Anyway, even with a renewed vigour, if we started again, doubt she will be completely nappy-free in time to join playgroup in September. They said "children are free to go to the toilet at all times". But that's a pretty sophisticated level to have reached. They're not just out of nappies, but able to take themselves to the loo!
Help! Should we not send her to playgroup then? What do people usually do?
