Sorry for the dumb question but did you use a potty or one of those things that go on the loo seat?

Secondly, I have no idea - at all - about potty training. Do you have any tips on what I should read and should ignore?

DS is 2 (just). Have no intention of starting yet. he's too young but looking to the future and trying to get things clear in my own head.

We got both - a potty to begin with, then DD 'graduated' to the loo seat thingy. She still uses it more than a year after being fully potty trained because she's quite small and could fall in otherwise!

Hi
Our daughter (2.6) has just decided she has had enough of nappies and virtually overnight she potty trained herself and now tells us when she wants a week or goes to the potty herself. we are a week in and only one accident so far. My daughter uses both potties and toilets (I refer her to use the toilet!) we have got a Baby Bjorn toilet seat which is fab and then recenty got a Potette Plus for travelling. This is great as it doubles up as a potty (with liners) and a toilet seat so great when out an about.

ope it all goes well my advice is let nature take it's own course and don't rush into it we were seeing signs of rediness and interest for about 4 months but didn't at that stage rush into doing anything. As it is in the end when the child is ready they will get on with it. Baby led potty training is the way to go and what we discovered was that we didn't need to do any of the 'training'
