To be honest, I would avoid pull ups all together and go straight for pants. I've found that a lot of children just use them the same as nappies and they don't help with potty training. One pull up caused our last month of potty training regression! If you want something to catch leaks while you're out and about, what about some washable training pants? You can buy them in mothercare. That way she'll still get the wet feeling without (hopefully!) needing a complete clothes change.

We do use pull ups occasionally at bedtime since ds had started having a couple of dry nights now. At the moment we use pampers because they were on offer. They seem to have a snugger fit for those with slim hips. Huggies and store brand like asda, morrisons etc have a looser fit and will fit a more chunky child better. We tried morrisons on ds, but one wee and the weight made them fall down
