It has finally happened and I'm delighted!!

Ds2 was 5 in Jan and up till 2 weeks ago showed NO signs of being dry all night. Each night we had a sodden pull-up and this was despite lifting him occasionally at our bed time. My gut instinct was to just leave him in the pull-ups till it happened. Added to this Ds1 has downs and is still in them too so i guess sends him mixed messages, we also had dd1 last sept so the thought of wet beds and more night time activity didn't appeal!

Then suddenly one morning the pull-up was dry and something has clinked, a few more nights of pull-up being dry before we went for pants and hoorah, hoorah, hoorah i think we have cracked it!!!!!!

Needed to share and also spread the word to those who are in the same situation that i was in only 2 weeks ago.... there is light at the end of the pull-up tunnel.

Well done Ds2..xxxxx

Congrats, the whole potty training thing is a nightmare. So your post has given me hope, my DS1 is nearly 4 and still wetting the bed at night. We're still using nappies, and sometimes these leak, so is a pull up a better idea?

I'm sure it will happen soon Eleanor. Ds1 has special needs and he has taught me that they all do things at their own speed and stressing out doesn't make it happen sooner. I was determined not to make a big deal out of it (but it is not easy).

Iona i only put him in pull-ups cause he is too big for nappies and looked a bit daft. They leaked occasionally too. Without being too graphic i think what happens is that boys even at this tender age get little hard-ons and then when it is all over the willy is left pointing up towards their tummy and when they wee.... well you see what i mean.

I always check the pull up is on right when i put it on and hope for the best! Something to tell the future girlfriends! Not!!!! Heehee.
