Please help!!

My daughter has just turned 2 1/2. She seemed to be aware she needed a poo and was hiding and would sometimes tell me she had.

I started potty training today and she has done 4 wees on the floor and one in her potty ,which I think was coincidental. She doesn't seem aware of when she is about to go!

Is this normal???

My DD is also 2.6 and we started a month or so again then took a break and started again. To begin with she really didn't seem aware of it. But when we tried again a few weeks later she seemed to get it a bit more but still a lot of accidents. This time we've been going for 5 days and bribing with tictacs with you might not feel comfortable but I was just getting a bit impatient and it's worked a treat. No accidents at home today, only one yesterday.

Going out is another matter - we haven't had any successes yet...

I'd say try for another day and if she is still not getting any wees in the potty leave it for a while and try again in a bit. If you decide to stick with it let me know and we can share successes/failures - I've found it all quite hard work and it sometimes helps to know someone else is in the same boat!
