How long did it take you to heal after episiotomy?

Currently 15 days pp. Had to get cut during labour as little miss was stuck. I know they say it takes at least 6 weeks to heal but I'm honestly getting so frustrated at my own body. I'm still quite sore down there, doesn't help that I have ended up with a bit of an infection so on antibiotics for that. I can't walk very far at all cos it's just very uncomfortable still. I'm desperate to just pop to the shops or to even get bub out in her pram more but any time I leave the house I feel like absolute rubbish. And I know everyone will be thinking "calm down, you literally gave birth 2 weeks ago. Give it time" but it's really annoying when you just want to be able to get things down around the house or to just get out of the house in general 🥲

It was a few months for me. I remember ds being signed off by the midwife and I was still having visits every 2 days as I’d worn jeans and split my stitches and gave myself an infection.

it is horrible but the time truly will seem like forever ago soon enough, and I didn’t need any asssitance with my 2nd which was a huge relief!

I can't remember exactly but it was at least 3 months. I also had an infection, failed stitches and there was some discussion about whether I would need new stitches. Take it easy! I know it's frustrating but give yourself time to heal.

Long time ago now but I remember mine feeling worse around the two week mark, then got better.
I had sex at six weeks so fine by then.

You know people will say this because you know you only pushed a baby out 2 weeks ago!! It’s only been a couple of weeks of course you’ll still be sore. I think I felt ok around 7/8 weeks after an episiotomy. Give your body time to heal it’ll get there

I had a second degree tear and I still felt pain 2 months pp. My husband suggested softplay at 5 days pp to get me out the house/toddler and I almost divorced him for the suggestion 😂 I did improve around 4/5 weeks pp but definitely didn’t feel normal. Give yourself time and soak up the cuddles. I wish I did and didn’t give myself the pressure! Xxx

I hope you're feeling a bit better! 6 weeks sounds about right if everything is straightforward but I was definitely able to leave the house before then. Bear in mind you probably had a lot of blood loss etc which will also affect how you feel. You will get to go and show off your baby soon!
