As the title says I haven’t seen or had any contact with my 2 week old baby since Monday night.

My daughter and I have been quarantining away from husband and baby because we’ve both got a stomach bug. Symptoms have started to subside today and I’m feeling a little bit better but don’t want to pass anything on to bub.

Is being without his mum this early on going to affect him in any way? I feel so guilty.

No it's not. Baby is with their other parent. Lots of babies are away from their parents if they're in intensive care. Hope you feel better! Are you managing to pump if BF?

When I was nursing we had new mums on itu etc and were away from their babies for extended periods of time we used to put baby's blanket on their skin and swap them round so baby was swaddled in a blanket that smelt of mum. Could you do that? I think it will probably harm you more than baby. Baby is currently with a loving parent and getting needs met. Its hard but sounds like your doing the right thing.

Just to reassure you, no. My eldest was away from me from 2 minutes, after he was born, for 10 days (I was ill). He’s in his 40s now and we’ve always been very close.
