Changes to body after pregnancy getting me down

I’ve just had my 3rd baby 10 weeks ago, I have a 3 and a half year old (who was sadly stillborn) a 2 year old and a 10 week old. So obviously the pregnancies were quite close together so my body has been through a lot. All three deliveries were via c section too. Anyway since having children my body is absolutely ruined. I have a horrible scar, an overhang on my belly, I keep getting very frequent utis (had them frequently through pregnancy too) and due to all my babies being head down and very low in my pelvis from very early on in the pregnancy I have haemorrhoids (sorry for the tmi). But all of this is getting me down, I’m trying to get my body back up to full health but talking to the doctors is like talking to a brick wall, it’s constant waits. I’ve just been referred to colorectal and it’s a 21 week wait! I know there is people who are obviously more urgent than me but I live in pain quite often due to it. Also with the UTIs I’m at a loss as i finish one lot of antibiotics and soon after I have another uti. All of this is having an impact on me mentally and emotionally and just don’t know what to do. Has anyone else experienced anything like this after pregnancy? It seems my body has taken a massive hit and I fear il never get my full health and body back to normal

Hey OP, I’m so sorry about your first baby. 10 weeks is very early, hang on in there. It’s very hard I know when you feel like this, but you do have to be a bit kind to yourself. I felt same after my third was born but back to normal-ish now- back in my old jeans at least and c section overhang thing has massively improved from 10 weeks (DS3 is one though. It does take time). I feel my mood about my body really fluctuates with how much exercise I’m doing. It’s an ongoing process! But do give yourself some grace, you’ve been through a lot, more than most.

It has taken me about 2 years after my last (3rd) baby to feel the hormones really settle and regain any ability to lose weight! Pelvic floor, ligaments and general health all still gradually improving (massive improvements in first 6 then first 12 months I found).

I think it's very early days and big improvements are still ahead of you ❤️ don't despair. At this stage with 2 such tiny ones you must be absolutely knackered beyond belief - go easy on yourself and have hope. I'm so sorry about your loss.

My belly is awful after just one child.

Can you visit a mummy mot type thing for yourself? Give you the once over?

I'm 2 years PP and always had a belly due to posture of having big boobs (slouch etc). I had a massive baby and lots of pain.

I hate the feeling of the saggy stomach as well. I don't know if I'm lazy or just didn't "bounce back".

But please just spend precious times with your children.

Give it time for your body to recover tone. Two years it took me.

UTIs. Get a referral to a urologist to isolate the bug. Join Chronic UTI women's support group on FB for support and advice.

9 months up (to grow the baby) 9 months down( to recover!) you’re doing amazing, and you’ve been through so much.. we don’t have to be attractive all the time.. enjoy your babies, eat well and sleep.. pee immediately after sex (if you can face that) to help reduce UTI, drink your 3 lites a day.. and mind yourself.. you deserve that..
