Period post breast feeding

Hello! I’m desperately trying to get my period back after stopping breastfeeding 6 weeks ago. I am 12 months post partum and no idea why my period hasn’t returned. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Have you taken a pregnancy test? That needs ruling out first.
It might just be taking your body a while to adjust to the change in hormone levels.

The range is huge, it varies so much from woman to woman. I vaguely remember being told that anywhere from two weeks to three months was normal after stopping. I bf until 20 months but my periods came back a year post partum almost to the day.

When I came off the pill to conceive a decade ago it took a full year for my periods to come back. GP said that was totally normal, which made me annoyed at all the time I'd spent in my 20s worried about a missed pill!
