Missing period after stopping breastfeeding

Hey so I stopped breastfeeding at the start of July and had my first period on the 1st August, a few weeks later I spotted on and off for 2 weeks but since then I have had nothing, no spotting and no period. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Could you be pregnant?

BunnyRuddington · 09/10/2025 23:07

The obvious question is have you POAS?

novocaine4thesoul · 09/10/2025 23:11

Only when I was pregnant ! Definitely did not expect that, but there are probably other reasons to explain.

Nope definately not pregnant I’ve been testing to make sure.

@BunnyRuddington what is POAS?

My periods were all over the place when I stopped bf. Took a few months for it all to settle down again

January0901 · 09/10/2025 23:29

@Autumn1990 did you have some that you just skipped?

we would like to start ttc within the next couple of months but obviously need my periods to come back to indicate if I’m ovulating or not so feel like I’m in a bit of a limbo at the minute

Breastfeeding affects your hormones so once you stop your have to wait for them to adjust again. I’m sure you’ll get back to normal soon

I just feel bad for my partner as well. My libido had started to pick up as breastfeeding had completely killed it then since that one period I’ve had, my libido has been back to nil

I was actually the same for a couple months it was completely gone but it does come back. They have to be understanding about it
