Hi there - I’m eleven months post partum and since about 9 months I’ve been shedding so much hair and it’s really stressing me out. Lost loads of volume and my pony tail is about half thickness. It seems a bit late to be post partum hair loss as stopped breastfeeding at 3 months but wondering if anyone else had shedding like this post partum and if so how long it took to sort itself out?! Very stressed i am going to be bald quite soon

Totally feel you. My hair came out in huge great clumps, properly thinned out so my whole ponytail was the thickness of my thumb. I know have wild baby hairs around my forehead.

What's helped has been microneedling 2-3 times a week with a wee one bought from boots. Im doing scalp massage to encourage blood flow. Caffeine shampoo and the elvive of whatever that brand is, their growth serum and leave in conditioner.

The thing that really works is minoxidil. I can't go on it as still breastfeeding but my husband used it and it's transformative. Go for a non branded 5% one.

There's loads of great information on social media about this. Just sending solidarity as it's so depressing. I always get luscious hair during pregnancy then it all falls out and comes back grey... Joy

Postpartum thyroiditis can cause hair loss that is more pronounced than regular postpartum hair loss.
Low iron
low b12/folate
low Vitamin D are also causes of hair loss.

It would be worth a chat to the GP & some blood tests to check there isn’t an underlying cause.
