Heavy Periods after birth

Has anyone else had very heavy periods after having their baby?

For context, I am not breast feeding, nor am I on the pill or any kind of hormonal contraception.
My first period was around the 12 week pp mark, where it was quite heavy and lasted for two weeks. I'm now 20 weeks pp and I'm just over three weeks in to a very heavy period.
There's definitely no retained placenta. I've been given tranexamic acid to slow the bleeding down, but I just wondered if this has happened to anyone else, and how long it took for things to settle?

I had heavy bleeding after my 2nd child, I can't remember how long it lasted for but it was very heavy. It might be worth keeping your GP or health visitor informed just so they know what's happening.

Taking Ibruprofen for the week before your AF is due will reduce the flow.
