Hair loss and Androgentic alopecia

Hi all,
5 months postpartum now and the hair loss is insane! The shedding seems to be slowing but has left me with really large patches of hair loss and very thin hair.
Has anyone found any successful treatments?
I also suffer with androgenetic alopecia so it's taken a real hit 😢

UK lash do a hair treatment which I used. It’s growing back in large tufts but it’s definitely growing back! Also swear by their lash and brow serum. I got biotin supplements too. Good luck, it’s shocking as it’s shedding isn’t it xx

Try regaine 5% minoxidil (I use the foam and buy a three pack from Amazon). I was recommended this by a private dermatologist, you do have to keep usage up though continuously. I use 5 nights a week and have done for years now

@Btowngirl ah I started this last month and have noticed a little growth so good to know that in the long run it might help!

@Wethers121 thank you. I was on minoxidil via Belgravia centre for 5-6 years before stopping when I started IVF. Unfortunately minoxidil is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Don't want to cut my breastfeeding journey short but might have to soon 😢

I also have androgenetic alopecia and have taken minoxidil 5% since I was 20. I was always terrified about having to stop during pregnancy but the hormones protected me from hair loss which was a huge relief. I’m now five months and one week post partum and am shedding a lot. It’s starting to show at the back and so I’m considering switching to formula soon to be able to start minox again. I am so happy I was able to breastfeed for this long but am still a bit sad at having to stop, I would have liked to continue…

How long did it take you to conceive with IVF? Took me five years TTC (1.5 years ivf) so I would have been bald if I’d stopped minoxidil during this time! I kept using but stopped as soon as I found out I was pregnant

@Caipulli firstly, congratulations!
We were 3 years ttc, and about half a year of IVF- two rounds and lucky this one stuck!
Sorry to hear you're in a similar situation. We had abit of a tough journey with feeding and only became EBF for a couple of months now so I'm finding it really hard to give up 😢
But equally i don't want to go bald! I've lost a lot at the front
