Hi all,

my baby us 14 months now, and I stopped breastfeeding 3 months ago but still don’t have my period. I’d like to try again for another baby, and as I had to take clomid before i expect I may need to take it again. Does anyone know if a private fertility clinic would help me at this stage? I’m 38 so I don’t want to hang around too long! I’m worried t they may suggest it’s too soon tho?
Has anyone experienced anything similar, and had help to conceive again?
tia,
Linda

Could you see the GP as a first step?

I think a gp would be more helpful as a first step, I stopped bf about the same time and my period returned almost immediately so it sounds like there could be something up.

I’ve seen the GP, they advised that as I already have a child, that I may not be eligible for fertility treatment of any kind in the nhs. They may do some tests (eg I already had a blood test, which showed normal results) to check why my periods haven’t returned, however it wouldn’t be fertility as the end goal. I’m hoping I just need clomid again, but the gp advised I may not even be eligible for that unfortunately (he’s waiting to confirm)
