Has anyone else been diagnosed with a DVT post c section? Looking for some reassurance!

I went to a&e today and have been told I may have a DVT (pain in calf and raised blood tests). They gave me a LMWH injection and I have to go back in tomorrow for a scan.
Would love to hear from anyone else who’s been in a similar situation! Feel so unlucky as I’ve read it’s quite rare and I’m usually fit and well (31, first baby, elective c section 3.5 weeks ago)

Not post c-section but I have had a pulmonary embolism in the past (I was on blood thinners for both my pregnancies and for a substantial time afterwards as a preventative thing!). I too was very unlucky, was only 20 at the time and low risk for actually getting one!

I would guess the scan will be to see where/how big the clot is, so they will inject you with a contrast media during the scan. I was on warfarin for months after this and I’ve not had one since. I’m very careful now to make sure I’m more active and hydrated because these can help prevent clots forming. Good luck for tomorrow!
