Periods after birth

Sorry, just wondering others' experiences, but when did your periods restart after giving birth?
Because on the internet, it says 6 months after, but it's been nearly 14 months and they still haven't restarted yet.
I mean, of course it's lovely not to have to worry about them and staining things etc, but for the sake of getting pregnant again, my partner is only over for Christmas, once a year, and I'm not getting any younger, but would really love to have one more baby, so that is why I'm worried about not having had a period since December 2022.
Is it normal to not have periods for over a year after giving birth?
I tried to message midwife, coz I thought that they might be the best person to ask, but they are not receiving my messages anymore 😅
Anyone else having had a similar experience and insight would be great.
Thank you in advance 😊

Are you breastfeeding? They might not return until you stop but go to your GP if worried, midwives won't deal with you now and it wouldn't be their area of expertise .
Do you mean you only see your partner once a year at Christmas?

Thank you. Yes, baby eats solids during the day, but still breastfeeds a few times during the night.
I'll try the GP, thanks 😊👍
I think I get a bit embarrassed to fill in their e-consult unless it's something more serious, but I could maybe fill it in as "just asking for advice" rather than treatment.
Yes, he was supposed to retire and come for good this September, so I wanted to start trying for another baby then, as last Christmas, baby was 3 months old and thought it better to wait a year postpartum before getting pregnant again, also for an approximate 2 year age gap between them.
But he changed his mind (again 😅) and decided to continue working abroad for another few years.
So he's visiting for 3 weeks during Christmas and New Year, and want to get the timing right. I usually track my periods on an app. But not sure if ovulating without periods 😅
I think I will take your advice and ask GP about the chances of getting pregnant again while breastfeeding.
Thank you 💕
