Period pains but no period

I’m currently 9 week’s postpartum (nearly 10) and have yet to get my period. I’m doing a mix of pumping and formula feeding. I’ve had awful period cramps since the beginning of last week and I still don’t have my period. Just period pains without the blood loss. It’s awful. Not agonising but just uncomfortable.

Usually I get period pain for two days then my actual period starts, so this is really bizarre for me.

My baby took two years to conceive and I was diagnosed with unexplained infertility so I have stupidly been having unprotected sex since 6 weeks postpartum (I know pumping isn’t contraception, no judgements please). I did two pregnancy tests last week (one on Wednesday and one on Friday) and both were negative, so I don’t think I’m pregnant at all. I’m just mentioning this just incase. I did have days of period cramps prior to my previous positive test which is why I thought to test. I don’t know if I should test again. I wouldn’t be mad if it were a pregnancy, even this soon because of previous issues ttc.

So if I’m not pregnant, is all this cramping normal? I’m getting a bit concerned. For more info, I had an uncomplicated vaginal birth and stopped bleeding at 4 weeks postpartum.

Could you be constipated at all? I suffer from it a lot and the cramps are nearly identical to period cramps, in the same location too!

No, I’ve had no issues in that department luckily. Sorry you suffer from it, must suck
