When to start the contraceptive pill?

I'm 8 weeks postpartum - haven't had sex or even really thought about it since little one arrived, but I'm considering giving it a go soon 😅 I'm exclusively breastfeeding and havent had a period yet but don't want any surprises, so I'm going to go back on the [progesterone only] pill. Is there a "right" time to start the new pill packet/cycle, or can I start it at any time?

You’d usually start it on the first day of your period but I’m sure you can start anytime and wait seven days before you’re protected x

You can start any time, if it’s not in the first five days of a normal period it takes 48 hours to become effective.
