Extreme post partum hair loss

My 4th baby is almost 5 months old and I'm losing my hair at an alarming rate, it's at the temples, hairline but by far the worst is the crown. I've always had very fine hair but hairdresser has said a lot of it.. I took some photos and I have visible bald spots and you can see my scalp in lots of places now. I've always had a little hairloss after pregnancy but nothing like this. I had my bloods done recently as I am still spotting / light bleeding since birth but all seemed normal (I'm not breast feeding if that's relevant). I feel so self conscious about this ive felt like crying all day. Has anyone else experienced hair loss this extreme and if so did it come back. Also any tips for hiding this would be great. I've been tying it up but the thinning at my temples doesn't look great in a pony tail either. I've added some pics for reference, I've searched the web but haven't seen anything as bad as mine

Ive posted this in women's health too to try and get some responses so hoping someone has some experience of this

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I have no advice unfortunately but didn’t want to read and run. I did experience hair loss during a stressful time (non pregnancy related) and understand how self conscious it makes you feel. I lost about 50% of my hair (it never grew back) and it does knock your confidence. Hopefully others will have some advice - wishing you luck x

Hi
my hairdresser swears by biotin for after pregnancy, I take it and whilst I’ve had some hair loss because I can see it on the floor I’ve not got patches. Would you consider a ‘topper’ for your crown? They are becoming really popular now and very discreet. If you google it you will see lots of crap ones but if you can find a professional salon near you (normally they specialise in hair loss) they are fantastic.

I am experiencing this myself and it’s truly devastating. Extreme hair loss for two months (5mth PP) and my doctors keep brushing it off as normal. Worst bald patch is on crown and with such thin hair it’s hard to hide. Seriously considering stopping breastfeeding so I can get PRP. All we can do is hope that it stops soon and grows back!
