13 months postpartum periods

Hi as title says I’m 13months after having my baby, via emergency c section.
started on the pill (yasminelle, same as pre pregnancy) at the 6 week appointment. Had a lot of heavy breakthrough bleeding and big clots for first 6ish months pp. (dr said this was normal🤷‍♀️) at 11months pp I came off the pill to start ttc #2 , my period pre pregnancy was always 28days and now my first cycle was 37 days and waiting for my second cycle to start in on day 31 (no af neg test day 28) , dr said it can take a year to come back normal… anyone else on the same boat?

Is that right OP? I've not been on the Mini-pill so I haven't got much of an idea?

Is your Smear test due soon? I'm just wondering if you could discuss this all with the Practice Nurse?

I've had really long periods that last 2-3 weeks and they kept fobbing me off and told me get the coil. That's helped a bit but not completely.
I do go and have an ultrasound to ensure all was ok
