First period after c section super heavy with small clots

I'm nearly 6 weeks post c section. The bleeding after was fine, pretty light for about 3 and a half weeks. Came on my period a couple of days ago. Very light and brownish. Then since yesterday morning it's been really heavy. I managed a day out and didn't bleed through my pad. But this morning it's been pretty much gushing out of me with lots of small clots. I'm actually a bit worried. I've never had anything like this and I had a c section with my first dd. I've got my 6 week check on my Monday I was just wondering if anyone's experienced similar? Tia

@TeamSpike I had similar but very heavy and large clots. I would bleed through maternity pads in 5 mins. I was scanned, put on fluids and given something to stop the bleeding. I was terrified but HCPs were largely unconcerned. They thought it might have been a first period but at under 6 weeks and EBF they thought unlikely. The gynae that scanned me said there might have been a bit of retained tissue that my body flushed out. I was in for one night, bleeding stopped very shortly after being given the drugs. I had no more bleeding until I stopped being at around 16 mo pp and just regular periods since. So see what your GP says but if you’re worried, go in to get checked out!
