Weight loss after birth stories

Hi all, I’m keen to hear how you went if you struggled to lose weight after birth while breastfeeding. When were you back to your pre pregnancy weight? Any tips for sustainable weight loss while BFing? I don’t need warnings not to diet etc, I’m not anxious or doing anything crazy, I’m just wanting to hear other mums’ experiences for some context and clarity.

I think it took a year after my first but I was seeing a personal trainer sometimes. Now I'm coming up to 6 months after my second and it's barely shifting.

Strength training is the only way, imo. I just don't have time with two kids! I can feel my abs and glutes need strengthening after being pregnant. Once I've built the muscle back, I know the weight will disappear by itself.

I'm almost exclusively breastfeeding but I don't think that makes much of a difference because I just eat slightly more to compensate.

Guess it depends how much you put on! I gained 25kgs in pregnancy. Never lost it all but have a better relationship with my body. Lost it mainly through the gym
