Spotting breastfeeding

This is a TMI post. So sorry in advance but I'm stressing about it.
I am nearly 5 months postpartum and for the last 3 months I've had spotting In the middle of my cycle
It's only a little bit maybe once a day for a few days exactly 2 weeks Before my period around ovulation.

I didn't have this spotting with my last baby.
I am fully breastfeeding .
My period came back 10 weeks pp and I've had spotting mid cycle since.

I went to the Dr. Got an ultrasound was fine. My last smear was clear. Due another this December.
I'm wondering if it's hormonal from breastfeeding and getting my period back too soon.
Has anyone else had this ?? Or experienced spotting before?
I'm such a worry wart. I will call the Dr again to be sure. But as everything looked good in there from the ultrasound. The only explanation is hormonal???

Hi! I was wondering if you got to the bottom of it? I am in the same position. Had random spots of bleeding. Initially they told me I had cervical ectropion which is what is causing the bleeding and that to return after 4 weeks if it’s still happening. After sex it triggers more bleeding but doesn’t seem to have any pain with it. It’s really odd and I’m stressing it could be something more sinister. I’m breastfeeding also but I can’t say I have had a proper period yet. I didn’t with my other until I stopped breastfeeding so bleeding at the minute is throwing me off!

So it happened a second month and it was Purley down to hormones regulating from breastfeeding. I went for a scan and everything was fine.
Not happened since but yeah like you it stressed me out so much!
