Blood in baby poo

Would appreciate understanding if anyone else has experienced anything similar. My baby has had mucusy poos since birth. At 8 weeks old she has started to have blood in her poo. I breastfeed and have given up milk and soy (for 2 months now) and it hasn’t changed anything (if anything the blood as got worse). She tends to have very small streaks with the occasional larger set streaks. Have seen paediatrics and they have said it’s allergen related and to try a hypoallergenic formula. I however am keen to keep on breastfeeding. Her sister (now 3yr) had blood in her stool as a baby too and I excluded pretty much all allergens and it did not make a difference. When she was weened it settled and has no food allergies now. I feel at a bit of a loss what to do next, whether to cut out more food groups, put milk/soy back in, go to a formula, demand testing (to exclude other health conditions)or just leave it as it is. She is a relatively happy baby but I does get quite a bit of wind and arches her back a lot. If anyone had had a similar experience I would appreciate hearing it.

Does your DD vommit after feeds?
how is her weight gain?

at first I was thinking it sounds like CMPA however if you think it may me something else then mama knows best in my opinion. You could always try cutting dairy out of your diet completely so you’re able to continue breast feeding? I’ve never BF so I’m unsure on how it all works really but I’ve heard others say when they suspected allergies they’ve cut dairy out of their diet.

i find it’s always a nightmare getting peads and doctors to listen, they seem to want to tick box and rule everything out before they test for other things. If you find nothing else working definitely go back and ask them for further testing.

do you have any ideas as to what may be causing the concerns?

@Valeriae156 Hi. I appreciate that you sent this message a long time ago but I’m in this position now. What happened with your baby? Do you have any advice? TIA
