Hi there,

Had a c section 8 weeks ago and since been back and forth to the doctors as incision just hasn't been right. Week 3 was put on antibiotics as I was told it was infected, felt bit better but the right edge became sore, a nurse saw me and said discharge is normal and not to worry but to clean it, hair dryer on it and pack with gauze. Week later she said it looked great. Now last week that right edge started oozing this time more and was sharp pain, went to hospital out of hours they gave more antibiotics said it was infected/edge was still open. My swab came back that the bacteria hasn't multiplied so said to just keep cleaning, it a week after that course and the open bit (maybe 3cm) has some parts with white in it, has anyone else had this? don't know whether to take it out as wound is still oozy and don't know if its dried ooze.

Has anyone else taken this long to heal? have any healing tips?

Do you feel ok? If you start to feel tired, fluey or feverish make sure you go straight to the hospital as it can be sign of sepsis infection. That's not to frighten you but just to be aware of.

I had infection after c section and was given IV antibiotics as the oral ones weren't shifting it. I had weeping from the wound too and I remember his bloody awful it was so you gave my sympathy.
Keep on at them OP, if it doesn't seem right then go back.

I think I feel okay, no fever, do feel tired but my little one is having me up most of the night so feel its more down to that. It more just sore, better than before with the antibiotic's but then that happened the last time and then felt stingy again.

Feel like maybe that would have been better for me too, did you just go back and say it wasn't working? how many weeks in the end did it take for yours to close?
