Is stomach muscle ache after childbirth normal?

I gave birth about a month ago and in the last week or so I've been getting muscle pain in my pelvic area and stomach. It's kinda like a pulled muscle kind of pain and tender like if you've done too much exercising. I don't notice it much when I'm sitting but when I move around, it's like I can feel the muscles pulling, is this normal? Thank you

No idea whether it's good or normal, but I gave birth six weeks ago to my second child and I have the exact same thing! I've just been ignoring it and hoping it goes away, I don't remember it happening with my first baby tbh

@MrsTwiggy Thank you for your response, I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this. I've been doing the same thing but it doesn't seem to be going. I haven't had my GP check yet as doctor's is having staff issues but if it's not stopped by then, I'm going to mention it. I hope it isn't anything to worry about and that we both feel better soon🙂

I had very similar a few weeks after my section. My midwife explained that it was something to do with the muscles losing all that elasticity they get during pregnancy and becoming a little tight. It went away but I couldn't tell you how long.. newborn haze and all..! Hope it all settles for you soon.

@Olivia199 Thank you for your reply, that makes a lot of sense and it's reassuring that it went on its own accord. Completely understand the newborn haze lol Thank you, very much appreciated 🙂
