Yes sadly not everyone gets a break from them when BFing.

ISaySteadyOn · 01/06/2023 08:12

It can happen. Mine came back at 4 months when I was tandem feeding. I felt robbed, honestly!
Also, if that happens, you can still be fertile and conceive when bfing. DS is testimony to that.

That’s exactly how I feel!
robbed!! As if we don’t go through enough I’m now having to have my period too

worry is that it affects milk supply apparently?? 😭😭

Mine came back at about 2 months, and was EBF. I also had ‘periods’ during first 6 months of pregnancy, so had very little break from them. Was not happy

ISaySteadyOn · 01/06/2023 08:18

It didn't for me, but all women are different.

whoami24601 · 01/06/2023 08:25

Mine came back at 4 months with all 3 of mine - 1 combi fed and 2 ebf. Also felt robbed! I was so looking forward to the break and then barely got one 😡

GulesMeansRed · 01/06/2023 08:26

Yes it's normal. Each time my periods were back after 12-15 weeks.

And to state the blindingly obvious, think about CONTRACEPTION.

DustyLee123 · 01/06/2023 08:26

Yes, it’s normal.

WonkyBricks · 01/06/2023 08:28

It can affect supply, but not drastically and baby will just feed more to increase it again. It's only a temporary thing. Plus your baby is 6 months so it's not such an issue.

SiouxsieSiouxStiletto · 01/06/2023 08:37

My DF has had 4 and AF came back with 4 weeks each time.

Agree that not everyone gets a nice long break but on the plus side, at least you'll know that your fertility is coming back if you are thinking of having another Wink

MattBerrysHair · 01/06/2023 08:39

Mine came back 4 weeks pp with both my exclusively bf dc. I was gutted!

elevenplusdilemma · 01/06/2023 17:56

Yes mine came back at 5 months. No problems with my milk supply (although baby was weaning soon after so less milk required anyway).
As PPs have said - don't forget contraception (although it maybe too late already as you probably will have ovulated 2 weeks ago Wink).

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 01/06/2023 18:03

My periods came back within a couple of weeks of starting both boys on solids.

Aria2015 · 01/06/2023 19:01

Yes, it's different for everyone but happened to me. Period started 5 months pp with my first (EBF) and 5 weeks after my second who was also EBF! I really felt robbed second time around!!
