my baby is 9.5months old. He was EBF until we started weaning from 6 months. He is now only having one or two short breastfeeds a day but he is still breastfeeding (too much really!) during the night…
I am yet to restart my periods but a couple of days ago, I started to get a few headaches and since then I have had intense cramping that started as what I thought was a one off two nights ago, to being on and off all day today and so bad this morning that I was doubled over and feeling sick. I also feel like I need to go to the toilet a lot - like I will have diarrhoea- only to not really be able to go when I get there. (Sorry I know it’s TMI!)
I think this is likely to be premenstrual cramping… I’ve tried paracetamol, ibuprofen and hot water bottles and even a couple of hot baths. All help a little bit but nothing stops the pain washing over me every thirty mins or so.
does anyone have any advice for how to handle this? How long did it last? Did anyone have a similar experience when they got their first period after breastfeeding? I don’t remember it being so bad after DD1 5 years ago!
