How long did it take for your periods to return?

11 weeks post partum with DD3 here. Still no sign of period. Not breastfeeding, negative pregnancy test (I even bought the clear blue early response buggers that cost £18)...whats going on here?

I'm keen to start the depo injection but doctors reccomended I wait till day 1-5 of my period.

Also I don't know if its relevant but I seem to have stopped/slowed down growing body hair?! Like I'll shave and then my hair doesn't grow back at its usual rate, I'm gonna guess there's some kind of hormonal imblance going on?

For the record I am anemic, but last time my bloods were done I wasn't severely anemic anymore, just below the reccomended feratin level.

I only breastfed for a couple of weeks (milk dried up), my period came back at 4 months pp if that helps. It was pretty irregular too for several months once it did return, I’d say back to “normal” at around 12 months pp.

I had some weird spotting too when they returned, mid-cycle, which I saw a doctor for. In the end everything was fine but if you’re worried about gynae health, speak to your GP.

How old are you?

My friend was 45 when she had her last child. Hasn't had a period since. She was told that she was starting the menopause.

She is grateful that she had her daughter at that time.

I had two periods over two years. 15 months before first period. I was breastfeeding though.

I EBF'd both of my children. After both births my periods came back four weeks later and were like clockwork from then on. No break at all.

I only breastfed for a week. My period came back bang on 4 weeks. Was gutted

Dc1 didn't breastfeed, period returned at about 12w pp
Dc2 ebf, period returned at about 6m

I've heard of people never breastfeeding who haven't had a period for months, and people who are who's period came back straight away though so I think it is partly luck
