I wanted to get my best friend who is due to give birth in a few weeks a little pamper set for
When baby is here. It's a mixture of things for bay, her and her husband.

After not long having a baby I want to try think of things that might be nice

Here's what I've got so far - any suggestions welcome

Box of Chocolates
All baby stuff covered so just need stuff for mum and dad ( mum mainly 😀)
Foot and hand packs
Make up wipes
Personalised Dummy clips
Personalised baby vest

I had a forceps and have really appreciated spritz for bits and a perineal wash but didn't want to include those! She may have a c section for example so didn't wanna get her bits based on my experience

Just wanted some ideas of what can be a good idea

Thanks for reading x

We were sent a box of brownies - was awesome - gave us a nice pudding to have for several days!

The best gift i got was a baby medical box, so baby calpol, nose sucker, saline nose spray, thermometer, sudacrem, tiny nail clippers etc and a little bag to store everything.

I’d shy away from anything that takes time. Shampoo/shower gel, fine. Home manicure set or bubble bath/similar suggest that she’ll have time to use them. Of course she may well have time, but if she doesn’t they will sit on a shelf and taunt her/she’ll feel a failure for not having time to use them. Bitter voice of experience here and I wouldn’t want to do that to other people. Sorry that comes across as over dramatic 🤣.

also one of the best gifts for me was a box of amazing cupcakes. The kind i’d never buy myself as too extravagant.

I was about to suggest this and see it’s already posted.

If you are a good cook you could cook a nice meal that they can reheat when they are too tired to cook.

what I really wished was just a recovery care box, filled with easy snacks, a anti leak travel mug so I could have tea and not worry, water bottle, hair scrunchie maybe some makeup wipes, maybe some detangle hair products, eye drops, mints

perineal wash can be useful to use for baby baths so I would get one with a baby nozzle !

Thanks all - @fireandsaga some things there I didn't think of and would have liked so thank you for the ideas x

Obv you know them best, but I’d prefer a nice vest rather than a personalised one.

Any kind of food that’s easy to eat, I remember a friend saying she loved dried fruit as it was easy. How about a cleaner for a month? Not sure how easy that is but I’m due soon and would love to know someone was coming a couple of times to clean.

chocsaucestrawb · 17/10/2022 09:28

@PandaOrLion I think a cleaner is a personal choice - I wouldn't like that myself
