Painful sex

Hi, I'm 4.5 months postpartum and had a stage 3a tear. Has anyone else experienced extremely painful sex after birth? It feels as though my vagina is too tight and almost going to rip! I've tried multiple times with lube but it seems no better. I have been examined by the physio and she says it's all looking fine but I don't know why it's so painful. Sorry if TMI but I need some advice. Im also breastfeeding which I know can make you dry which doesn't help. Thanks!

I don't have advice, and I'm sure someone will be along who could be more helpful, but I would be getting a second opinion if I were you. Even if physio says nothing seems wrong, the fact is you are in pain and a decent women's health physio should be able to advise on what can help.
For what it's worth, I'm also 4 months pp. I didn't tear but did have an episiotomy with a pretty rough recovery, but sex has been better than before baby for me. I wouldn't think your pain is normal but that is purely my opinion from my own experience.
Sorry you are going through this. It's hard enough to find time for sex with a small baby, and to feel up for it, so experiencing pain when you do get the opportunity is very crap!

I had a third degree tear, 20 years ago so my memory is a little hazy. I do remember it was a good six months before it all felt normal and I was able to climax through penetration. I am sure you will get there.

Get checked. I had pain with sex and it was down to an ectropian. It’s not serious but they can be very sore
