Had anyone suddenly stopped breastfeeding at 6 months??

I'm at a total loss here.
My daughter is almost 6 months old and we have both had chronic thrush since she was born, we've been treated several times and it just won't shift.
I'm at the point now where the pain is so excruciating I'm starting to resent breastfeeding and anyone touching me.
I feel like a total failure as I managed to breastfeed my son to a year with no issues but I need to stop now.
Problem is I have no idea how to do it?
Has anyone ever suddenly stopped before, what do I do?

Cut out one feed at a time (offer formula as a replacement). Wait 3days-a week before dropping the next feed.

I did at 6 months.
I remember sitting there with milk coming out the top, and I’d started my period so blood coming out the bottom, wondering what on earth I’d become. I had this sudden feeling that my body wasn’t my own anymore, and that I had to take it back. So I swapped a BF for a bottle and increased it by one every day until she was totally bottle fed.

Don't be hard on yourself @LVJ1989, it sounds as if you've had a tough time.

If you talk to one of the BFing Helplines they can help you to come up with a plan to move to FFing whilst reducing your risk of Mastitis and they should also ge able to talk to you about dealing with the thrush whilst you both transition Thanks
