What's happening - breast milk?!

So utterly pissed off.

I couldn't feed my baby EBF due to low supply, GP's wouldn't prescribe Domperidone after I tried everything from Fenugreek to pumping etc.

Months down the line, now I've been 2 months clear of breastfeeding, I'm producing milk again thanks to starting fluoxetine thanks to depression Hmm. I've read ssris can increase prolactin so this is obviously what's happening BUT am I going to have to pump to get rid or will I stop producing milk if there's no demand?

Anyone been in this ridiculous, ironic, fckd up situation?!

Haven't been in that situation myself but how about just putting the baby on the boob from now? Any breast milk will be good for them :)

I had random days of producing milk- 6 months after stopping! I hand expressed to clear it- boobs were heavy as hell and then it stopped.

Your body works on supply and demand - don't pump and it will stop.

@Skweeler I'm not sure I want her to get any fluoxetine in her system. GP wouldn't prescribe it to me when I was breastfeeding, only sertraline which I chickened out of taking because of unknown risks.

I'd seriously BF immediately if I had nothing to no fluoxetine in me. Sad

Ah I see! I didn't know they weren't compatible with breastfeeding, sorry :( as a prior poster said it works on supply and demand so don't pump it out as it will refill. Hand expressing may be just enough to relieve the fullness but not encourage more milk to come in?

@Skweeler @Danikm151 @han01uk thanks, that's what I'm hoping. Fingers crossed it fizzles out yet again!
