Open episiotomy wound... not healing. Am I alone?! :(

My diagonal episiotomy muscle and skin layer stitches came out in the first week after an infection which has now cleared up however the wound is still sore and raw. I have been told they will not restitch and to let it heal over time. It has been 8 weeks now and it has got to a stage where ir doesn’t feel like it is healing anymore due to the area it is in. it also feels like when it does heal it will heal pretty ‘open’ at my opening which feels so weird. I have found a few conversations online where people have had this but the LH have still healed within 6-8 weeks and I am nowhere near healed… Am I alone? :(

@Em45634 can we keep in touch on here and update. I got so upset last night when I looked at it as still looks so raw and the actual bit where my v opens looks like it will heal open so I will have a large opening to my v which freaks me out. What are you able and not able to do? Sending lots of love x

@Em45634 me too!!! I say if someone had that on their arm they would be at docs having all sorts of bandage changing and drugs etc.
I feel so alone so good (not that I want others to suffer) to know I am not alone and that this 6 weeks people talk of isn't a thing for everyone.
About to have a bath which again I keep being told to do but is very difficult with a newborn lol.
Take care... catch up soon? X

Hey both. Just came accross this post. I have been through this a year and a half ago and know how horrible it is and how scary it is. So if you want a chat or ask me anything feel free. Hope you feel better x
