Newborn crying hysterically then suddenly asleep

Morning everyone,

I gave birth to DD last Wednesday, she's been pretty good and chilled out. We are bottle feeding as it was clear very quickly she wasn't going to take to the breast.

I've been up with her this morning and she got so worked up, rooting Eden though it was only two hours since she was last fed then only having a couple of sucks before spitting out the teat and crying again. I tried winding her but she just cried and tried to suck on my shoulder.

I had a section so standing and rocking isn't really an option for me just yet. After about 10/15 mins of trying to settle her I decided it was time to come wake up dad and as soon as I started preparing to get out of the chair she just stopped crying and went to sleep, we came up to him anyway and now she's totally fast asleep in my arms.

My milk started to come in yesterday and I don't know if that's maybe causing her to be unsettled with me, was it gas and I just missed the fart? Is this normal!?

All sounds very normal, they can be odd little creatures Smile

Sounds completely normal. Please don't worry.
I think when your milk's coming in it's a big upheaval for both mother and baby.
And please take care of yourself as much as you can in these early days, especially after the c section.
Many congratulations on your new daughter
