Chronic vaginal thrush and breastfeeding

Hi all!

Since giving birth to my first child 5 months ago (forceps, third degree tear, horrible three month long recovery), I have recurrent vaginal thrush which I have been treating with vaginal pessaries and/or cream which have brought temporary relief at most. I've been to see my gynaecologist (not in the UK) who said that due to the chronic nature I'd have to be treated with an oral course of antifungal for a minimum of 2 weeks. She said this was incompatible with breastfeeding.

I have not yet been treated with lactobacillus pessaries or tablets and presumably have a very disturbed vaginal flora after the traumatic birth.

I really really don't want to stop breastfeeding my child.

Has anyone had any experience with chronic thrush that got better after treatment with lactobacillus pessaries?

I'm pretty desperate...

There is no chance if constant Re infection from DH as not DTD Blush.

Please give me some positive stories! Thanks Smile
