Can my 8 week old sleep too much during the night?

Ds is 8 weeks old and for the past week has been sleeping from around 10-11pm until 6-7am without waking up for a feed.

I've been told that I should let him sleep through the night and if he was hungry he would let me know and then told I should wake him for a feed.

This is my first child and I have no idea what to do.
Is it a good thing or is it bad? Should I wake him or let him sleep?

During the day he has 4oz formula every 3 hours and always finishes his bottle.

Has anyone else had their babies have this type of sleep pattern from 2 months old?

If he's growing as expected and meeting other milestones then just thank your lucky stars he's a sleeper Grin

I think 8 hours at 8 weeks is probably fine tbh anyway.
My 1 month old can go upto 5 hours on occasion and he's breastfed which they say usually means they get up more.

Yes my second daughter is similar! She woke at 3.30am for one feed from about 2 months and then at three months she'd dropped that and slept from 9ish - 8.30am.

Last night was the worse night I've had with her so far - she was giggling away and refusing to sleep - I didn't pick her up and she finally dropped off at about 11. She woke at 7.45am and I fed her and then we both went back to sleep until about 11am. It's great that she sleeps but I need to get into a routine now.

She is nearly four months so I'm dreading the four month regression!

It's fine, take his lead and go with it! Enjoy it while you can and try not to worry, he'll let you know if he needs something :) My DS was like this when he was 8 weeks, we had a few weeks of great sleep and then the 4 month sleep regression hit!
