Dry skin and scalp.

Possibly absolutely nothing to do with being four months postpartum but I have no idea what’s causing it so I’m going to use it as a starting point for you wise Mumsnetter’s! At three months I stopped exclusively breastfeeding and switched entirely to formula, since then my postpartum hair loss has started and brought the craziest itching I’ve ever known with it. I’m losing handfuls of hair every time I wash it and lots during the day too but the itching is constant and unrelenting alongside that when I get changed in the evening a noticeable amount of dry skin is falling off of my thighs. I have never suffered with dry skin/excema before and my legs actually aren’t itchy, they just seem to be shedding for want of a better word Envy NOT envy. I thought it was perhaps a vitamin deficiency so I’m taking biotin, vitamin d and b12 but nothing seems to be making any difference. I’ve seen people laud Body Shop’s ginger hair range as a miracle worker for itchy scalp but again,no difference. It’s driving me insane! Does anybody have any experience/tips? For reference this is my third baby and I’ve never suffered like this before. I haven’t had a period post baby yet, again not sure if this is relevant.

I had the same and just rolled with it. Dry skin has settled but still loosing hair (8.5mo pp)

Four months pp and having the exact same problem. Was convinced my kids had given me nits Grin.

I bought Aveeno itchy scalp shampoo off Amazon and it's really helped.

Also my third baby and I had the same problem with all of them. Surprised I'm not bald by the amount of hair I'm losing! You're not alone x

I honestly can’t tell you how much better it’s made me feel to know that I’m not being driven crazy alone 😂 I’ll try the Aveeno shampoo. I’ve been using the DC’s Aveeno bath stuff to try to stop my legs from being so dry so that’s a really good idea. Honestly, how much hair do we actually possess?! It’s like Hansel and Grettel except I’m leaving a trail of hair rather than crumbs!

All my other hairy bits are growing like a weed. Apart from my head which is itching and falling out. So glamorous Confused

Nothing to help OP . Wanted to say a big thank you to this thread though. I have a really itchy scalp ( and a three month old) was also starting to think maybe I had nits ( from socially distancing well older DC!).
