Sex after cesarean

So me and DH tried to have sex last night 6 weeks after my CS. It was so painful we had to stop, we used lube too. I'm worried I'm too tight down there which I read can happen after a CS, even when I go to the toilet for no2 (sorry tmi) it's painful and there's blood. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi just wanted to share my story and hopefully help you a little, I had a c section in June. I couldn’t think of anything worse than sex 😂 we tried it around 8 weeks after and I was the same so tight, even now months on I’m still the same, I guess some woman will think it’s a positive but I feel my body is completely different.

Thanks, it's strange this isn't something I was expecting, I've read on other threads though about women who had sex no problem after a section

I'm 8.5 months post birth and still experiencing this. Using a (small) vibrator first, plus lots of lube helps. It's also much more comfortable without using a condom (we are starting to try to conceive again, though very unlikely at the moment as periods have yet to return).

Are you breastfeeding? It wasnt right for me until I stoped BF- felt really tight and a bit dry

It took about 8 months for it to get better after both C sections for me. My youngest is 3 and now all is normal and fine.

Thanks for the replies! I have seen on YouTube videos about stretches and breathing exercises you can do to stretch your pelvic floor so I'm going to try those too

I am still BF so I think that's definitely having an effect too
