Corona virus with a newborn

Hi I’m new to this section of mums net - as I have a 2 week old baby

I’ve started to develop symptoms of corona virus and have just received a call that my midwife is being tested as she is showing signs :(

Obviously I don’t know for certain if I have covid (I’m awaiting a postal test) but I am absolutely terrified for my 2 week old and if he’s now got it/getting it!

I need a handhold and also coming here to ask if anyone had covid with such a young baby - did your baby go on the develop it and if so just some reassurance that everything turned out ok

My dd wasn't as young as yours but her dad tested positive when she was 9 weeks old. We couldn't social distance as we were all living together before we knew about the result, and frankly there was no where for any of us to go as there was a risk me or dd could have it so didn't want to take to parents.

She's now 14 weeks and is absolutely fine. She and I never showed any symptoms, and I believe it's a very low risk for babies anyway. I never noticed a change in her while we were isolating, if anything she was happier both parents were at home! X
