I had PGP for the third trimester of my pregnancy in late 2018. I saw a women’s health physio twice - one private appointment, one NHS. At the NHS one I was told just to rest and grow the baby, it wasn’t very helpful. PGP slowly improved after birth but it’s not got fully better and now, nearly two years on, I still get that horrible feeling that my pelvis will fall apart just before and during my period each month. I’d like to get it seen to and sorted as much as possible now (Covid has delayed this of course), but I’m not sure who it’s best to go to - I think the NHS wait will be long and given my previous experience I’d like to go private, but don’t want to waste my money. Options are:
- The women’s health physio I saw previously privately. She also checked my pelvic floor about 8 weeks postpartum when I was having issues there, and was good.
- A McTimoney chiropractor. I had this kind of treatment about a decade ago and loved it - really helped sort out aches and pains in my shoulder and got rid of period pain in my lower back completely
- A fairly local (25 min drive) osteopath recommended on the Pelvic Partnership website. Options 1 and 2 are walking distance so more convenient.
Any opinions or experiences would be really welcome! Thanks!
