Numbness below left shoulder-blade. From carrying baby? Or epidural?

Hi. I'm wondering if this problem is common. I'm experiencing a very irritating numbness just below my left shoulder-blade and I'm worried this will become more serious or lead to something more serious.

I have a 12 month old baby whom I've been carrying on my left arm and hip. She's getting quite heavy now and recently started walking so I try not to carry her, but I still have to carry her quite often.

I just wonder if people have had this problem and how they dealt with it.

Are there any special types of exercise I can do? Any specific vitamins to take? Could it be the effect of the epidural that has surfaced only now?

Any ideas appreciated, Thanks

Sorry I meant - I've been carrying the baby mainly on my right arm, and the pain is on the other side. Is that some sort of imbalance?
