C section incision pain getting worse not better

I had an elective section six days ago, my second one after having a CS with my first daughter 3 years ago.

The midwife removed the dressing yesterday, she said it looks fine but ever since it's been so so painful on and around the incision, getting worse and worse. I thought it would be improving by now not deteriorating. I don't remember it being this sore with my first and don't know if I should be worried. I'm staying on top of taking the paracetamol and ibuprofen and husband is really good at doing everything so I can actually rest.
Is this normal? It's fucking excruciating.

That doesnt sound normal. Did you find out what was wrong? Hope you are feeling better now.

Thanks @Delbelleber I saw the GP on Thursday then out of hours again today. There's a hard lump on one side and an intense burning pain on the other, it's definitely infected so have some antibiotics and stronger painkillers and am told I should see an improvement by Monday

That’s good you’ve got meds. I was going to say that doesn’t sound right

Sounds nasty. Watch out for other signs of infection like swelling in your legs and redness. It was all connected in my case a few years ago. I just had another section on the 14th. Feeling good so far but paranoid about infection!

@houseplantlover I do hope you're feeling a bit better. I had an EMCS and I was not prepared for the recovery. Its longer than people say it is! Take it slow and give it time. I hope the infection clears ASAP for you
