1st period after baby

My DS is 9 months old. I BF and went on the mini pill which seem to have kept my period away until now. However - it's shown up and I am now on day 14! It's all over the place. Heavy. Light. Stop. Start. I had no bleeding for the past three days but have just woken up like a scene from Carry. Wtf. It wasn't like this after my first. It was heavy but normal length.
Is this normal? Could it be the mini pill? I've never been on it before. If it's the mini pill does the bleeding ever stop or is this just what happens???

Mini pill is progesterone-only pill, right? I was on Cerazette for years without bleeding or problems, but one time it was out of stock so the pharmacist gave me Feanolla. I started bleeding left right and centre, and randomly, it was awful. I even had tests and was absolutely fine, so it was the pill.

I think POPs do have side effects that include bleeding, or at least spotting. Have you read the leaflet to see if your one includes such side effects?

Yes it's progesterone only. Destrogel or something like that it's called. It says bleeding can be a side effect but I've been on it for over 7 months with no bleeding at all. So I can't understand why it would happen now? I thought I'd got lucky and I was one of the people that it stops periods entirely for.

When I had my unexpected bleeding, the pharmacist was convinced it was random rather than due to the switch in brand from Cerazette to Feanolla. So perhaps random bleeding can just happen.

If you're worried, you can get a referral from the GP to get tests. I had a transvaginal ultrasound to double check everything was ok in there. It was quite quick and not at all uncomfortable/painful.

Hi I'm 6 wpp and started period 10 days ago! 3 days really heavy bleeding (one of days a trip to a and e and I flooded very quickly) then I seem to bleed for 12 hours (ish) with it railing off at the end then I may wake at 6am wipe and there we are lots of fresh bright red blood again! Then I'll bleed again but then stop I've done this now for 7 days! I have been given mini pill but told to start once bleeding has stopped so I haven't even started that yet and my bleeding is like you say! It's like I know it's gonna start as I get cramps again just before! I had a PPH two weeks after baby and had an infection which was treated , after a and a e I had another swab and a tram vag scan which showed womb was all back to normal and no retained product (previously been thick and big due to infection) swab also came back clear so it must be period but I've just never experienced one like it or as heavy? It's made me very anxious. (Due to PPH) and every time I see the blood again I panic! Last 5 days me and baby have spent in bedroom! Only pottering around house as I'm terrified to do too much or to bleed bad! I just want this to all end now I'm fed up! But hearing someone has similar is reassuring cx
