C section bloody and smelly, 13 months later

Hiya

I had a section 13 months ago, generally it’s been ok, I did have 2 infections but it was just smelly and not painful in anyway. The last time I got anti biotics was about 3-4 months ago and it seemed to be cleared up however tonight I could smell it again and when I pulled up my stomach to see if the scar was ok the scar looks red and even bloody!
I’m worried as it’s not normally bloody and the smell seems really strong this time.
It’s now Friday night and I won’t be able to get a doctors appointment until Monday, I can’t wait that long as I’m worried, is this something you can Call up nhs 24 and get referred to go to a royal?

Any help would be great as I’m worried it could lead to sepsis x

I would definitely ring 111 OP x

Call 111.

Call 111 and get on out of hours appointment. Longer its left the worse it will get

Do you have a local “minor injuries clinic”? I’d go there - or a&e if not. I wouldn’t want to wait til Monday if it smells

puds11 · 04/01/2020 12:43

I’d go to walk in

Alanares89 · 04/01/2020 19:23

Went to the walk in, got told it seems to be just infected and gave me a prescription for anti biotics and advised me to go see a doctor on Friday.
Quite frustrating, I would want more answers on why my scar opens up after a year instead off the answer, “just happens”
I’ll see what the doctor says on Friday, if anyone else has had something similar let me know your experiences please xoxo

I can understand your frustration OP but they seem to have taken your concerns seriously and have given you the appropriate medication.

Did they say anything else?

Alanares89 · 04/01/2020 19:46

They checked my blood pressure and took my temperature, which was fine and not any indication off sepsis (phewww).

She had a look, and said it was smelly and seemed infected and then told me about the medication and i have to get it checked again on Friday by my own doctor and they could do a swab if it’s still infected.

I know I don’t know what I was expecting from the doctor but I think because sepsis was on my mind I built it up to be something a lot more, glad it’s not sepsis right enough!! Lol x
