6 week postnatal appointment - take the baby or not?

I received a letter from my Dr last week detailing my postnatal appointment with the nurse and babies 8 week appointment for his first injections. These appointments are 4 weeks apart. My postnatal one is actually 4 weeks after baby was born!

Do I need to take baby along to the postnatal appointment with the nurse or is it just for me?
I rang the surgery and the receptionist told me she didn’t concern herself with these appointments! Hmm
She concerns herself with every other appointment I’ve ever made!

The GP checked my baby top to toe at the 6week check as well as me so yes you need to take baby.

Just had mine and it was a double appointment for me and baby. Baby's reflexes and belly button and stuff get checked.
