What was your first period like and when was it?

Hi I’m 10 weeks post partum and last weeek began spotting. The spotting lasted one toilet trip and stopped, this was Thursdays. On Friday nothing at all. On Saturday I had more spotting and then it turned bright red by afternoon but only on wiping. It’s stopped again I knew my first period would be different but I assumed it would be heavier not lighter!

When did you get your first period after birth and was it different?

I stopped BF'ing at 8 weeks and got my period the week after. No different to a normal period for me just weird as it had been a year without one! Now I'm on the mini pill so no periods for me

I think you'll find it varies massively woman to woman as I've heard some have much heavier periods afterwards and some are fine! It can also take a few cycles for them to go back to "normal" a bit like when you come off the pill and it can take a while, all your hormones need to settle back down again.

Sit first proper period has come today. I'm gutted. I have cramps while feeling with a baby with reflux who wants to be in my arms 24/7. I am EBF and my baby is 12 weeks old. I was hoping they wouldn't come back until around the time I stopped breastfeeding.
