Postnatal hair loss

I had a baby 12 weeks ago and I knew about postnatal hair loss so expected some loss, however I am really starting to panic now at the sheer volume of hair that's falling out, it's coming out in handfuls when I'm in the shower and it's literally all over the house! Is this amount normal? And did anyone experience this but then their hair went back to normal afterwards? I'm worried I'm going to go bald!

I hear you, god I was clogging up the hoover and everyone had long hairs in their dinner if I cooked. It was everywhere.

After 1 pregnancy it went back to normal after breastfeeding stopped.

I was diagnosed with under active thyroid 3 years after 2nd pregnancy. Still losing loads but thankfully not bald. Yet.

It can be normal & abnormal. Look out for other symptoms if you suspect thyroid issues

I didn't have this but my sister did, she had clumps on the pillow when she woke up. It calmed down after about 6 months.

It seemed like so much hair falling out at the time but it did stop. Then in a couple of months you'll have all the funny little baby hairs sticking out around your hair line as some grows back!

Well I'm glad to hear it's not just me! Hopefully it'll slow down soon
