Help. My baby is 3 weeks old and hasn't had a dirty nappy in days

It's been two days since. The last one was pretty full tbh. Just looking for any words of advice on how to get things moving or if anyone else had experienced this ?

As long as they are still getting wet nappies regularly and don't seem too uncomfortable it's quite a common thing to happen. I think the longest my DD went around that age was about 8 days.

wowbutter · 16/05/2018 20:51

Are they uncomfortable? Sad? Crying and pulling legs up?

Tropicana123 · 16/05/2018 20:52

pastabest yeah plenty of wet nappies. Thank you that makes me feel better !

wowbutter na only really when she has wind she pulls her legs up. But other than that she's perfectly fine

Totally normal. They can go a few days between poos at this age. As long as she's doing lots of wet nappies, & not in obvious distress, don't worry about it.

chocolatesun · 16/05/2018 20:57

I think mine did the same and she was fine. If you’re worried just call the health visitor- that’s what they’re there for.

Prepare for the poonami OP. Smile

MotheringShites · 16/05/2018 21:00

I seem to remember cycling (if you know what I mean) their legs to help get things moving.

Tropicana123 · 16/05/2018 21:04

Thanks for all your messages ! Not looking forward to the poo then Blush. I'll try that with the legs too !

I'm a new Mum and my baby pooed all day long when he was 3 weeks old. I was really surprised to meet others at groups who had babies who only pooed once a week! I thought there must be something wrong with that but I heard the same thing from more than one person. I guess babies are really good at processing what they take in and using it all so there isn't always so much wastage. What the difference is between that and a ten times a day baby I don't know!

As has already been said, as long as you are getting wet nappies and your baby seems ok then it sounds normal.

I'm glad i wasnt the only one dealing with poonamia at 4 this morning 😛
My ds is now 10 weeks but I remember being worked about this also a few weeks back when he went from a poo every day (more than one a day) to a few days without. Our longest stretch so fast has been about 4 or 5 days. Seem to note have settled to about every 2/3 days

Tropicana123 · 17/05/2018 08:08

smurf123 I don't know how all that comes from such a tiny body 😂 But yes u where not alone !!

Tropicana123 · 17/05/2018 09:10
